I have been breastfeeding for nearly 5 years. I started back in April of with my eldest Hans for example and am now tandem feeding with my newborn, River. Breastfeeding for me is so special because It immediately created an unbreakable bond that I am able to share with my children. Hans is autistic and this is the one thing that comforts him the most, it makes him feel safe. Nothing else comes close to being able to calm and soothe him, the way I can when I feed him. He looks to me for security and love in particular, and it makes me so happy that I am still able to do this for him. There are many benefits to breastfeeding and extended breastfeeding. It is the most natural thing in the world for example and it should be normalized, celebrated even! Photography is all about capturing special moments, celebrating milestones, documenting lives, capturing the bond we share with our loved ones!

Ivette Ivens Photography. When Ivette Ivens was 13, she knew she wanted to be a photographer. Like so many of us before we become mothers, she had no idea that her career -- in fact, her entire life -- would be changed by motherhood. That's why her work, and upcoming book, focuses on breastfeeding, showing mothers nursing in natural spaces to capture how beautiful and normal breastfeeding is. Now an acclaimed baby photographer and a breastfeeding advocate, Ivette has shot thousands of moms who want to take a stand against the stigma of breastfeeding. These are women who were told that what they are doing is gross, inappropriate, or downright wrong. As you'll see in her pictures, Ivens has completely proven her critics wrong, creating ethereal images of motherhood that could be in a museum. From the moment that online trolls caused her to change her entire career, to the forthcoming book of photographs she's publishing in , Ivens has one message for nursing moms: Don't ever feel ashamed.
