I love my former Mormon friends and family, but a relationship requires devotion and trust and understanding. Of course my parents love each other very much and would not choose another spouse, which is why her response caught me off guard. Fall in love, learn, make some mistakes, laugh, serve other people, reproduce, and let the whole story start again.

In the Garden of Eden, Eve may have introduced sin into the world, but ultimately her actions worked out for good because it allowed all of us to be born and tested in this telestial state. Too often, I think, priesthood holders think that being overly controlling, they are simply wielding their authority in the home. I'm so glad we waited until now instead of jumping into it right then, because I have learned a ton and the learning curve of being with a doctor is far more steep than it is to be with someone who is not married to their job. There are over promises in the Bible. In areas with lots of single Mormons of dating and marriageable age, the Church has established singles wards. On the bright side, it makes our time together more valuable. If you do manage to break her away from the church, her family will be there to continue sowing doubt. Marriage is serious business and we are in it together despite our spouses shortcomings.
Unfortunately, it does not get easier, just different. I mostly attribute this to lack of sleep, but I also think he is treated better as a fellow -- by everyone. The scriptures say that one of the main reasons good people don't join the church is because they just haven't been introduced to it.
